10 Best New XBOX Series X Exclusive Games (2024)

new xbox exclusives

The Xbox Series X is a staple of engineering in the modern console market. It’s a console so powerful that it can run Forza Horizon 5 at 60 frames per second with ray-tracing enabled!

It’s just as strong as any modern gaming PC, and that is what makes it such an important leap in console technology. The Xbox One was always ahead of the PlayStation 4 in terms of technology, but it never really had any games that we could consider just as good as the Sony exclusives.

However, this console generation is where things seem to be changing for the better for Xbox.

While Sony does have their huge exclusive line-up still to be released, Microsoft has collected a huge crew of studios that will be developing first-party exclusives.

Upcoming XBOX Series X Exclusives

Here are some of the best upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S Exclusive Games in 2024.

10. Tunic

YouTube video

Tunic is one of the cutest and most unique-looking isometric, action, and adventure games from 2024. The game is being developed by Canadian indie developer Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji.

The game has a very unique-looking world, with cartoony graphics and an anthropomorphic fox as its main character. It promises a relaxing gameplay loop, a colorful world, and a fascinating narrative!

This game has our attention, not just for the game itself but for the publisher Finji, whose games we’ve always admired.

Release Date: March 16th, 2022.

9. Shredders

YouTube video

I can’t say this enough, but snowboarding games have always been a genre in which you can find some of the best meditative gameplay experiences.

Shredders is here to elevate that, with a unique art style and ultimate freedom in your movement! From snowboarding to skiing and even snowmobiles, Foam Punch’s new sandbox offers you a choice to play the game in your own way!

Foam Punch is a new studio and is a small team, this makes Shredders feel like one of the best looking upcoming indie games for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S!

Release Date: February 2022.

8. As Dusk Falls

As Dusk Falls seem like a graphical and narrative experience unlike anything else!

A mix of 2D and 3D art design, the game will be a complete narrative-focused experience that will throw players into the shoes of two families that collide in an Arizona Motel in 1999.

The gameplay is still unknown as to what exactly it will be like, but it will definitely be a mix of Dontnod’s popular Life is Strange games, combined with all the tips and tricks of a visual novel type game. This is one that we’re very intrigued by!

Release Date: TBA 2022.

7. Scorn

YouTube video

Ebb Software’s Scorn seems to be a game that has a TON of hype surrounding it.

The game is a first-person, fully immersive horror game that will throw you into a nightmarish atmosphere with odd creatures and tapestries of a ruined world.

It seems that Scorn has yet again been delayed, however, it is still set to release in 2022 that’s for sure. This game looks like a breath of fresh air, a unique take on the survival horror genre where everything around you is supposedly out to kill you.

Though be warned, it seems like this game is definitely not for the faint of heart.

6. Fable

YouTube video

Fable was a franchise so beloved, that when it got canceled millions of hearts got broken. It’s been more than a decade that fans have been waiting for an update on a new fable game.

However, lucky for us Microsoft has finally delivered. Fable is seeing a soft reboot or a new installment in the franchise and it is set to release in 2022! It is being developed by Playground Games, most notable for their Forza Horizon franchise.

The game is somewhat of a reboot within the world of Fable, and we couldn’t be happier to have it back. Fable is going to be one of the most anticipated games of this year, it’s like seeing an old friend after a long time.

Release Date: TBA 2022.

5. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

YouTube video

Ninja Theory is back with a new addition to a game that revolutionized how you can tell stories through video games.

Hellblade was one of a kind, a game so immersive and so breathtakingly inspired, that it was thought-provoking in a way that had never been done before. Now, we finally have a new chapter in Senua’s story and we couldn’t be more hyped!

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is a brand new installment in Senua’s story, and seems to be an anthology story with the same character. The gameplay trailer we recently received at The Game Awards definitely has us scratching for more, that much I can say for sure.

Release Date: TBA Holiday 2022.

4. Redfall

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pWjcqXnP2g

Redfall is Arkane Studios’ first official Xbox Exclusive game, and one that seems to be a much different game than anything they’ve created before.

This is a four-person cooperative game, with a huge emphasis on those classic Dishonored abilities that we love to see.

It’ll have your pick from 4 different characters, and fight off hordes of enemies in a fictional depiction of a vampire-infested modern world! We don’t know much about Redfall, but we do know that Arkane never disappoints!

Release Date: TBA 202.

3. Avowed

YouTube video

Obsidian Entertainment made a MASSIVE comeback with 2019’s The Outer Worlds, and they pushed it even further with 2020’s release of Grounded, a multiplayer-only survival game.

However, they’re going back to what they do best with their next project. Avowed is a full-on Medieval RPG game, built to give players not just an immersive world but an experience they’ve been thirsting for.

But also to create a world and narrative that will constantly change and shift depending on the player’s decisions. We expect a ton of freedom in not just the gameplay, but also in the narratives we choose to create!

Avowed is one of the most anticipated Xbox Series X exclusive games we’ve gotten so far!

Release Date: TBA 2022.

2. Starfield

YouTube video

Starfield is the next one on the list, and this is a full-out RPG experience and the first new IP by Bethesda Games Studios in over 25 years!

The game looks absolutely insane, with intergalactic travel being one of the key components, and Bethesda’s new and reworked engine coming into play.

Now that Bethesda has been acquired by Microsoft, Starfield will be a day one release on the Xbox Game Pass. This game will not just be a combination of all the mechanics we’ve seen before in Bethesda games, but all of the experience they’ve had as developers put into one project.

We expect to be mind-blown by Starfield, that’s for sure!

Release Date: November 11th, 2022.

1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl

YouTube video

Starfield would have been the number one spot on this list if it wasn’t for GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl.

Call of Pripyat was released in 2009, which means that this game has been in the making for more than a decade. Heart of Chernobyl had one of the biggest and most exciting trailers out of any we’ve seen in recent memory.

The game seems to be dialing up the immersion levels to a 10, with a better narrative, a bigger gameplay loop, and more freedom and emphasis on exploration and roleplaying.

The game is also going to make the zones much more dangerous than ever before, and that’s saying something because S.T.A.L.K.E.R has always been extremely difficult games.

Release Date: April 28th, 2022.

Conclusion

These are the best upcoming Xbox Series X Exclusive games in 2022.

While I can’t say for sure how great each of these titles will be, I can say with certainty that the Xbox lineup of games is finally coming to fruition.

Not to mention, you can get day-one access to each and every one of these games with an Xbox Game Pass. It’s a good time to own an Xbox Series X, that’s a fact.
