Mobile gaming has become exponentially profitable in the past few years and everyone wants a cut. Since popular franchises like Call of Duty and Fornite have tried their go at a smartphone version, it was only a matter of time that other successful Battle Royale games make their way onto the handheld devices too.
Apex Legends is currently one of the most successful first-person shooter online games, crossing over 100 million players not too long ago. Fans had been demanding a mobile port for a while but it wasn’t confirmed until earlier this year and details have finally been revealed.
Although people were hoping for a cross-play experience, unfortunately, the game is going to be a self-contained mobile experience.
But in a way, this is exciting in its own right for a different reason – and that is the curiosity that arises from seeing just how different is Apex Legends Mobile from the console game since it’s built exclusively as a handheld experience.
So, it comes down to the release date and that’s what we’re going to tell you! Here’s the Apex Legends Mobile release date for Android & iOS platforms!
Apex Legends Mobile Android Beta Release Date
Apex Legends Mobile is going to have a general release soon and we have been officially pointed towards the release date already too by Respawn Entertainment. But before they release the game for everyone, it’s coming out through limited-slot beta tests for the Android platform.
Apex Legends Mobile Closed Beta started on April 27th for India, while it’s expected to come to the Philippines sometime in May. You have to register for the game and it’s currently only available in selected regions at the time. If you’re selected for a slot, you will be able to play the game when it’s available in your region and will be notified.
And if you don’t get selected, you will still be notified when the game is released officially and will have one of the earliest playable accounts.
This Apex Legends Mobile beta release date is specifically for the Android version.
Apex Legends Mobile iOS Beta Release Date
While the game has been already confirmed for an iPhone release when it is out of the beta – its Closed Beta testing is solely limited to Android smartphones and in certain regions.
However, Apple has good relations with companies in the gaming industry and the iPhone won’t be skipped entirely for the beta without a doubt.
However, there is no official release date for Apex Legends on iOS at the moment and we have to wait until Respawn Entertainment is finally ready to tell us when we can register and play the game on those Apple’s devices.
Apex Legends Mobile Release Date
Now that we’ve gotten the beta out of the way – let’s talk about the official release date of Apex Legends Mobile that will be international and on every mobile device under the iOS and Android ecosystem.
Originally, EA Games revealed that Apex Legends Mobile will be released in 2022, likely in the first quarter of the year. However, according to sources, it seems as if the final release of Apex Legends Mobile is going to be set around the third quarter of 2021 itself – which makes a lot of sense since the beta has already started and Respawn Entertainment is slowly testing out the stability of their servers in different countries.
And with covid-19 still being a factor that affects release dates of the entertainment industry, it should be safe to assume that it’s possible they might go back on the new release date and instead stick to 2022.
One way or another, fans are certainly excited to test this version out and it will be a major blow to Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile if this game ends up being successful – although a lack of cross-play might be a bad thing since a few games like Fortnite allow it.
And that’s everything that we know about Apex Legends Mobile’s release date at the moment. We hope this answered your questions and while you’re here, don’t forget to check out some of our other helpful gaming articles too!
