Miitopia Explained
Miitopia is a role-playing video game that was originally released as an exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS. As you would expect from the genre, it has things like multiple classes for characters and quests that you can complete. However, the gimmick here was the fact that you can create and use traditional Miis in the game in the same way as you would in Tomodachi Life.
And furthermore, there are simulation aspects such as the relationship between the Mii characters outside of the main gameplay affecting things like combat based on whether or not they get along. The game, similar to most Nintendo games released around that time, was also compatible with Amiibo figurines which would unlock extra things in the game for your characters.
In 2021, Nintendo finally announced that the game will be getting remastered for the Nintendo Switch and this remaster includes new customization options, a new horse companion, and other quality-of-life changes.
While the game is slated to be released later on, a demo has been out which features an extensive amount of customization capabilities and that’s why everyone is interested in the upcoming remaster all of a sudden.
Now that we have what Miitopia is out of the way for those who might not be aware of what we’re talking about – let’s get you set up with the game’s demo on the Nintendo Switch.
How to get the Miitopia Demo
The Miitopia remaster for the Nintendo Switch is already available as a pre-purchase for $49.99 dollars and gives you 250 points.
However, you can try the demo out for free any time that you want long before the release – which not only allows you to mess around with the game’s character creation tool for fun but also gives you a head start so that you won’t have to spend a lot of time on it when it’s finally released.
There are two ways of getting the demo, the first one is to open the Nintendo Switch shop and look for Miitopia. On its official store page, you will find a ‘Download demo’ button which you can tap immediately to start the download and then all you have to do is to play the game.
However, if you don’t feel like looking it up on the Nintendo Switch – you can also send the game to your device from a computer so that it downloads itself conveniently and when you pick it up the game will already be waiting for you. This is how you do it:
1. Go to the Miitopia page on the official Nintendo website
2. Click the ‘download demo’ button and enter your account information that is linked to your Nintendo Switch
After you have logged in and said yes to everything – congratulations. All that’s left is to let the Miitopia demo download on your Nintendo Switch and play it when it’s ready.
Not much of the game is available to be tested out since it’s something most of us already played on the Nintendo 3DS – but it’s still a fun experience to go crazy in its character creation tool.
