One of the things GTA 5 Players gotta learn is how to Emote.
Emoting is a pointless but mandatory mechanic in almost all games where you want to passive-aggressively annoy other players or in a few rare instances, show gratitude instead of just plugging your headset in to say “thank you”.
Naturally, GTA Online has many ways for you to taunt, wave, and flip the bird to anyone and everyone in your Free Roam world.

Emoting and Changing Emotes
The game doesn’t exactly spell it out for you as to where the mechanic of Emoting is found, you have to do a little bit of digging. Open the Interaction Menu by holding the View Button (Xbox) or using the Touchpad (PS4). Select the “Style” option, and scroll down to “Action”.
Here you can switch between the different Emote options and pick which one you want. To see what the Emote looks like, press A/X and your character will perform the Emote.
To perform your Emote when you’re out and about in Downtown Los Santos, simply click on both analog sticks at the same time (both consoles).
You can also point by double-clicking the right analog stick, and double click again to stop.
Your chosen Emote will also be performed by your character when you are the victor in a multiplayer scenario.
